I have so many favourite quotes from Things No One Will Tell Fat Girls by Jes Baker @themilitantbaker but this is one of my favourites. @gabifresh says it so perfectly – society only approves of fat women if they basically disown the fact that they are fat and agree that they know how awful they are.
I call bullshit.
I couldn’t be happier to have chosen Jes’s book as the first book for the Body Positive Book Club. We went into so many conversations about privilege, the word “healthy” and the word “fat”. Ive never felt more alive and understood in our little community.
