Body confidence is not just a hashtag.
Body positivity is not just a movement.
It is something I truly believe in.
It is something I will defend in real life.
It is something I will insist upon even in secret and hidden conversations that none of you will hear.
It is something I announce to family and friends as much as I tell complete strangers.
It is something I wear on my sleeve and in my heart.
It is something that runs through my blood.
It is my deepest and most genuine passion.
It might not have saved my life, but it made me starting LIVING.
It might not have saved my life, but it made me utilise my one life to the max:
It might not have saved my life, but it doubled the amount of time I have on this earth because it halved the amount of time I waste thinking about my body.
Well, I guess in that case, it did save my life. Admittedly, I have felt lost after every hospital experience. I have felt lost in my body with each additional illness and body positivity saved me.
Body positivity made me appreciate my body for it’s ability to work.
Body positivity made me realise how enjoyable exercise could be without the pressure of weight loss.
Body positivity made me believe that I was more than a number on a scale.
Body positivity told me that I was worthy, without society’s approval.
I don’t know about you, but I think that’s a pretty worthwhile cause. #bodypositivity
