THIS IS A BODY IN MOTION.
I’d be lying if I didn’t say that the first thing I see when I look at this picture is my thighs.
Then the next thing I think about is what a lovely day I was having with a friend. We were determined to have a pool day even though it was raining and we were being chased out of the pool for being too old.
But back to my thighs. That is the part that I have been body shamed for the most. “Thunder thighs”
“Tree chunks”
“Legs like an elephant”
Just me? Nope.
I’ve also had people tell me I have “skinny legs for a fat person” or that my legs are more toned than they would have thought.
GAWDDD PEOPLE HAVE SO MANY OPINIONS ABOUT MY BODY ?
Regardless… what I love about this photo is the fact that this is a body that moves. This a natural photo that my friend took while I was walking around… because THIS ☝?️ is what your bod looks like when you aren’t sucking in or posing in a certain way and that’s OK.
It’s ok to have an unflattering angle because it’s ok to be unflattering. Its ok to have a bit of back fat and imperfect hair. It’s ok to not be your best self and it’s ok to have your cellulite on show.
I just read an amazing post by @thevaggagle about how she embraces her “tree trunk thighs”… So in that spirit, here are my thunder thighs to celebrate #cellulitesaturday
