? I FINALLY MET ONE OF MY SOCIAL MEDIA FRIENDS IN REAL LIFE ?
I have met so many awesome people through the bopo community and I finally met one of them in real life. Bertha @curvasian and I met through Instagram because she uploaded a picture with the hashtag #bodypositivity and it was a picture of her hiking in Hong Kong. I recognised it and actually was hiking in the same spot just a few days before and commented on her photo! As one of the few Chinese people in the body positive space, we bonded instantly and the best part is our first ever conversation was recorded live on the radio.
Bertha is really doing ground breaking work – body positivity doesn’t exist in Hong Kong or even China at all and through her blog she’s managed to get a radio talk show with the lovely Noreen Mir (pictured above) as well as appearing in the main Hong Kong newspaper!
